Recently, as Halloween approached, we were struck with the idea of creating a spooky treat to share with friends and loved ones. That's when the idea of crafting Halloween-themed cake pops using our signature baking mixes was born!

There's an undeniable charm to cake pops – those bite-sized indulgences that combine the best of both worlds: cake and lollipops. And when it comes to creating these delectable delights, our baking mixes are a game-changer; they make the baking process a breeze and result in moist cake pops that are irresistibly delicious.

When you’re in the cake pop mood, follow the steps below to turn ordinary cake into miniature masterpieces!

Ingredients:

  • 1 box of Cake Mix or Loaf Mix of your choice
    • Required additional ingredients as per the mix instructions
  • 1 box of Frosting Mix of your choice
    • Required additional ingredients as per the mix instructions
  • Cake pop sticks
  • Candy melts or chocolate for coating
  • Sprinkles or toppings (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  2. Follow the instructions on the baking mix to bake a cake. 
  3. Once cooled, crumble the cake into fine crumbs in a large mixing bowl.
  4. Follow the instructions on the frosting mix to whip up the frosting.
  5. Add frosting to the cake crumbs, starting with a small amount (about ½ cup). Mix it thoroughly until the mixture is moist enough to roll into balls. This will act as the binding agent.
  6. Take small portions of the mixture and roll them into evenly-sized balls, ensuring they are compact enough to hold their shape.
  7. Melt a small amount of candy melts or chocolate and dip the tip of each cake pop stick into it. Gently insert the sticks halfway into each cake ball.
  8. Place the cake balls on a tray and refrigerate them for about 15-20 minutes to firm up.
  9. Melt the candy melts or chocolate for coating according to the package instructions. Dip each cake pop into the melted chocolate, ensuring an even coat. Allow any excess to drip off.
  10. While the chocolate is still wet, add sprinkles or toppings if desired. Then, place the cake pops upright on a tray to let them set completely.
  11. Once the coating has hardened, your cake pops are ready to be enjoyed!
